Bihar CM Nitish Kumar face huge criticism after his bizarre explanation on drop in fertility rate and education
Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar’s statement on education and population control drew a huge criticism from the public and politicians alike. In his speech during Legislative Assembly of Bihar amid tabling the caste census report.
His explanation on how education played a role in helping women in population control which included some bizzare and crass statement, opposition slammed his language was vulgar. Nitish Kumar stated that an educated woman is able to prevent pregnancy after sex, while briefing on decline in fertility rate of Bihar from 4.9 to 2.9 %
His statement was widely condemned, with the National Commission for Women (NCW) demanded an apology from the CM. The BJP called the remarks an “attack on the dignity of women.” However, Bihar’s Deputy CM defended Nitish, defended the CM said it is a biology that is taught in schools. Union Minister of State Ashwini Choubey demanded that CM should resign and offer an apology.
It is disheartening to hear such language on the floor of the assembly by the CM of Bihar, Thiru Nitish Kumar.

BJP is using this issue in poll bound states during their election campaigns, PM Modi also slammed Nitish Kumar for his statement and questioned opposition alliance not speaking a word condemning Nitish’s statement.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar sought apology and took back his words he spoke during the tabling of the report.
